Egypt is an extraordinary travel destination. If you are like us, you have dreamed of seeing the pyramids of Giza since you were a child. With 10 days in Egypt, you have plenty of time to go beyond the pyramids and experience the highlights of this amazing country.
On this Egypt itinerary, you will visit the intricately decorated tombs in the Valley of the Kings, drift on the Nile River in a felucca, and see the Pyramids of Giza while sitting atop a camel. Are you getting excited yet? The list continues, with visits to the spectacular temples at Abu Simbel, the enormous Karnak Temple in Luxor, and the ancient pyramids in Dahshur and Saqqara.
This trip is one thrilling, unforgettable experience after another. Be prepared to make some extraordinary memories and to come home with tales to tell.
TRIP DETAILS
Day 1:
Arrival / Cairo
Transfer via: Flight, arranged on your own
Accommodation: Marriott Mena House (5 star),
Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met in the tunnel by an airport representative who will facilitate the visa process (excluded) and escort you through customs and immigration. Continue to the baggage claim hall and finally to the passenger pick up, you will be introduced to your private driver who will drive you to your accommodation. It can take an hour to get from the airport to your hotel, after checking in, enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel.
Note: * Strict dress code for visiting mosques and churches. Men must wear long pants and shirts with sleeve no tank tops. If you're wearing sandals or flip-flops you must wear socks. (No bare feet). Similarly, women must be modestly dressed, have no see-through clothes, bare shoulders, etc.
* Observant Muslims do not drink alcohol or smoke. There might not be alcohol serviced in the hotel or local restaurants. If alcohol is not offered, it is better not to ask for it.
Day 2:
Cairo

This morning you are met at your hotel by our private guide and driver for a full-day tour of the ancient Memphis, Saqqara, and the pyramids at Giza. Drive south to Memphis first to visit this ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Then you move on to the Step Pyramid of Saqqara. Finish with the most iconic and largest pyramids at Giza and the mysterious Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh's head.
Note: * Be aware that a limited number of people are allowed inside the Grand Pyramids is based on a first come first serve basis.
* The trip takes around seven hours in total, with a stop for lunch (lunch not included) in a cafe or restaurant recommended by your guide.
Day 3:
Cairo

Today's sightseeing begins in the Egyptian Museum, where houses a magnificent collection of Pharaonic antiquities.
In the afternoon, you will proceed to Old Cairo to visit the Citadel of Salah El Din, and the Mohammed Ali Mosque situated high above the city, continue to visit the Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church, where the Holy Family is reported to have stayed, and the Hanging Church, the seat of the Coptic patriarchate for centuries. Visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest Jewish synagogue in Egypt. Finish the trip at the Khan El Khalili Bazaar to browse and shop.
Note: * Optional Tour: Day tour to Alexandria from Cairo can be arranged.
* Optional Shisha (Arabian hookah) experience can be arranged at the Khalili Bazaar for an additional USD15 per person.
Day 4:
Cairo / Aswan / Nile River Cruise
Transfer via: Flight, Economy Class, arranged by Eat Drink Travel Group LLC (Duration: 1.5 hours)

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch on ship, Dinner on ship
An early start for a private transfer to the airport for your short flight to Aswan. Upon your arrival in Aswan, a private transfer to board your cruise ship in Aswan is provided. After settling into your cabin, disembark for a guided trip to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae. The latter is a special site, a shrine to Isis: your guide will explain how UNESCO took steps to relocate it to save it from flooding. Later in the afternoon, you will take an Egyptian Felucca to sail on the Nile, passing by the Elephantine Island, and step ashore the Botanical Gardens on the Kitchener Island., Check in after 12:00 Noon

Note: * Cruise from Aswan to Luxor available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
* Felucca is completely driven by natural wind, when there is not enough wind, you will take a motorboat instead.
* The itinerary for a shore excursion is subject to change without prior notice due to navigational and security restrictions. The change will be only in the sequence of the itinerary and the visit will be the same.
* WIFI service is available on the boat at an additional cost of around USD15 per day, however, due to poor construction of base stations, wifi is not stable during the cruise. If internet service is essential, it might be better to consult your mobile operator for data service before departing for the trip.
Day 5:
Nile River Cruise

Sail to Kom Ombo. Visit Kom Ombo Temple. Sail to Aswan
--Sobek Temple: Located in the town of Kom-Ombo, about 28 miles north of Aswan, the Sobek Temple, dating to the Ptolemies, is built on a high dune overlooking the Nile. Though known as Kom Ombo, the Temple is actually two temples consisting of a Temple to Sobek and a Temple of Haroeris.
Day 6:
Nile River Cruise

AM: Visit Edfu Temple
PM: Sail to Luxor via Esna
--Horus Temple: Dedicated to Horus, the falcon headed god, construction of the Temple of Horus was begun in 237 BC by Ptolemy III Euergetes I and was finished in 57 BC. This is not only the best preserved ancient temple in Egypt, but also the second largest after Karnak.
Day 7 :
Luxor / Hurghada
Transfer via: Private vehicle, arranged by Eat Drink Travel Group LLC
AM: Check out after breakfast
AM: Visit the Valley of the Kings , Hatshepsut (El-Deir El-Bahari),Memnon colossus
AM: Visit Karnak Temple & Luxor Temple, After breakfast on board, you will start your day with a visit to the Temples of Karnak. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to enter the complex as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. Continue to Luxor Temple which was once joined to the Temples of Karnak by a two-kilometer long Avenue of Sphinx, a portion of which marks the entrance to the temple. Your private guide will offer interpretation and guide you through the most important parts of the temples. After the tour, you'll be driven from Luxor across to Hurghada on the Red Sea. This 350-kilometer drive crosses the desert and rocky terrain that covers most of Egypt.
Note: * The Hot Air Balloon fly depends very much on the weather and might not be available daily, from October till next April is the best time for it.
Day 8:

PACKAGE PRICE INCLUDES:
1. Admission fees of the scenic spots as listed in the itinerary.
2. Meals as specified in the itinerary. B stands for Breakfast, L for Lunch, and D for Dinner.
3. Meeting & assistance at airport/station/ferry and all needed transfers as per itinerary.
4. Flights or train as listed in the itinerary.
Flights: Cairo - Aswan, Hurghada - Cairo airport tax and fuel fee included. Please be aware that for all domestic flights listed in the itinerary, only one piece of checked luggage is allowed, with a limit of up to 20 kg and 7-8 kg for hand carry baggage.
5. Sightseeing as outlined in the itinerary.
6. Accommodation with daily breakfast. *Check-in & Check-out time: generally check in after 2 pm and check out before 12 pm (noon). Early check-in or late check-out is subject to room availability and may generate an additional half/full-day room charge.
7. Private Transfers between airports, hotels, and scenic spots while sightseeing in each city or area via private air-conditioned vehicle as listed in the itinerary. Appropriately sized vehicles will be used according to the number of people in your group to ensure you have enough legroom and luggage space. Please be aware that the arrival or departure transfer is based on all members arriving or departing on the same flight, additional cost will be charged when arriving or departing on different flights, and separate transfers is required.
8. The tour company provides one bottle of drinking water per person per day.
9. Our offer includes the planning, handling, operational, and communication charges & current VAT Taxes.
PACKAGE PRICE EXCLUDES:
1. Flight/Sightseeing/Meals NOT listed in the itinerary.
2. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into the destination country, and make sure you have two blank pages in your passport on arrival. Visa requirement varies from country to country. Please consult your travel consultant for more details if you are unsure whether visa is required for your trip.
* Egypt Visa--Citizens of the following countries can obtain visa upon arrival at any of the Egyptian ports of entry: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA, UK, and EU Nations. The Egyptian visa is simply a stamp (like a mail or postage stamp) that you can buy from the visa office located in the arrival hall at the port of entry just before the immigration booth. The visa stamp costs around $30 USD, depending on the origin of the passport, payable in cash in Pounds Sterling, US dollars, or Euros. No Credit Card payment accepted.
3. Additional 3% payment transaction fee of the total amount is required when paying by credit card, PayPal, or iPayLinks. While on wire transfer, there will normally be a bank fee of USD20-30 per transaction.
4. The suggested gratuities of USD 5-10 per traveler per day to the tour guide and USD 6-8 per traveler per day to the driver, and USD 3 per traveler to our representative at the airport/station if there is one. However, this is just a suggestion and gratuity is all depending on the services you receive.
5. Travel Insurance Please kindly note that the full coverage travel insurance from your country of origin should be purchased in advance on your own.
6. Personal expenses such as room service, internet charge, laundry, drink, fax, telephone call, optional activities, etc.
7. Excess Baggage Charge. Extra or overweight luggage will be subject to extra cost, please pay to the airlines directly upon checking in at the airport.
8. Optional activities either recommended by tour guides or out of your own interests.
9. Depending on which country you are in, some hotels only have free WIFI available in the lobby and some with free WIFI coverage in room. Please ask the hotel front desk on this upon checking in.

Please confirm your reservation today to lock in your rate; Monthly payments are required to keep your reservation current. All of your payments to Eat Drink Travel Group are non-refundable and non-transferrable; Protect your investment - the unforeseen can and will happen at the most inopportune time.
Therefore, we highly recommend vacation protection insurance; Payments are accepted via PayPal. Please see the option below. Refunds will not be given due to roommate abandonment. Please ensure your roommate confirms his/her reservation and are making timely payments as required.
No payments will be accepted after March 5, 2027. If you are not paid in full by March 5. 2027. Your reservation will automatically cancel.
